John Dickens is a wildlife photographer, marine biologist and expedition guide.
A conservation biologist by training, John spent years in the field as a higher-predator biologist in the sub-Antarctic — overwintering once on remote Marion Island and twice on South Georgia — before turning to expedition guiding aboard small ships. Today he works alongside some exceptional expedition teams, leading guests around the UK, Iceland, Madagascar, Seychelles, Faroe, and Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica.
John's photography grows directly out of that work: years spent watching animals closely, in places few people are fortunate enough to visit, let alone live and work for months on end.
